The Asian Network (TANI) hosted its Regional Network Meeting at the Western Springs Community Garden Hall, bringing together service providers, NGOs, and community members for a meaningful and informative hui.

Dr. Stephanie D’Souza from Auckland University of Technology shared valuable insights into perinatal depression, highlighting its long-term impacts on Asian and MELAA mothers in Aotearoa and the urgent need for more culturally responsive maternal health support systems.

Ivy Liang and Shirley Chen from Asian and Ethnic Health Services also presented the Healthy Mother Healthy Babies programme, which supports pregnant Asian women and mothers through workshops, counselling, social support, and health education initiatives.

We were honoured to welcome the India In Auckland - Consulate General of India, Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi, to the meeting. Dr. Sethi acknowledged TANI’s journey and recognised the significant contribution the organisation continues to make towards the wellbeing of broader Asian and ethnic communities across Aotearoa. We sincerely appreciate his encouragement and ongoing support for our kaupapa.

Attendees were also provided with important election information and breast screening resources to support informed decision-making and community wellbeing.
