Jian Chen

Jian Chen arrived in New Zealand as an international student in 2003 from the scenic Hainan Island in the South China Sea. After graduating with a degree in Master of Management Studies from Waikato University, Jian moved to Auckland and worked in a small fishing tackle company for five years.

Subsequently she found her new passion and enrolled at Unitec, where she obtained a Bachelor of Social Practice in 2016. Since then, Jian has been working part time with the Asian Network Inc. (TANI) as a programme coordinator, administrative support and gardener.

Jian’s also works part time as a registered health professional for an NGO that provides mental health support. In her spare time, Jian enjoys good cuisine, reading, crochet. She also enjoys fiction movies and drama depicting crime and investigation.
